When You Are Not Looking!

With all the media coverage on the Chinese situation, a very important illustration
of our common dilemma has slipped under the radar screen. Have you hear all the moaning over the Bush budget? Well, for those
who disagree with the methods stated in the last 'View' Essay, The 'BUREAUCRATIC SYNDROME'; you have a wake up call from Congress.
The countless cries that programs are actually being cut is music to my ears. Ten Departments will have a smaller budget next
fiscal year, and those 'Lefty Libs' DemocRAT'S are whining like pigs. Several 'Grand Old' RepubCANT'S have join in this choir
as well. All the time the dollar amount for this proposed budget will rise by almost eight percent. What do they all want,
to break the TWO Trillion barrier?
Sure, you got the answer to that one! I'm still looking for the reasons why
there will be such a huge rise in the budget to begin with. I thought that there was no inflation? It seems to me that we
are not being told the whole story. During a era of 'so called' prosperity, why can't a budget be proposed that eliminates
Departments, not just reduce their budgets? Do you remember when the 'Grand Old' RepubCANT'S were talking about eliminating
the Department of Education? What we all got, was more control over the government schools by the federal principal.
So you say term limits will solve this problem. Also campaign finance reform
will save the day. Sorry; folks, not a chance. At least not in the forms that are currently being proposed. The real issue
is that a fundamental reform is impossible coming from this crowd. When will you learn that the 'Beltway Shuffle' only entertains,
but never solves? The expressed intent, that Bush proposes on small specifics, should be applauded. However, the pork has
not been affected with the 'Foot and Mouth' disease. The nature of the 'BS' 'BS', yes that stands for the BUREAUCRATIC SYNDROME
- Beltway Shuffle, will not allow for a smaller government. This is the undeniable issue, and no one from inside will ever
correct it.
The media is preparing us for possible $3.00 gas, rolling brown out to spread
to the East Coast and shortages of toys when trade relations goes south with China. Yes, you heard it from the spinsters themselves.
You need to tighten in your belt, but the 'BS' 'BS', within the Beltway will be immune. Surprise, Surprise! I never would
believe such candid talk. The next thing they will tell us is that Pigs really fly! For you 'True Believers', I don't mean
on airplanes . . . Show me that, and you can have the money!
