The Village Idiot Strikes Gold
With all the success that Bill O’Reilly has achieved, one would think the king of cable news must be reporting a message
that the public frantically loves. Well, it seems style - once again - wins out over substance. The only talking points you
need to remember is that a “No Spin Zone” doesn’t mean it has no filters. When Fox News broke the mold and
zoomed in on the rage of a modern day Joe Pyne, the viewer got a nightly fix most needed. O’Reilly was not a new boy
on the block. Ever since his hosting of "Inside Edition", he had a popular following. But his “Factor” has
a format that cuts through the clutter, with all the ease of melting butter parting ways, with his sharp tongue skirmishes
with guests. Any junkie addicted to the program knows when Bill doesn’t host, the spectacle falters. A tight focus and
investigated reports often strike a direct hit. So what is the problem with dear old Bill?
When the cloak of Drew Pearson slips into the muckraking of Jack Anderson and ends up at the expense of the objectivity of Walter Winchell, we surely must accept Mr O’Reilly at his word - he is not a man of the
RIGHT. If ideology doesn’t matter in reporting, why do we only get one approved message? ‘Big Bad Bill’
may instill more fear than affection in his guests, but his job is not about being liked. Being popular with the public so
that they become regular viewers is entirely different than being a Larry King buddy to those interviewed. Much of the brash
Irishman’s appeal is his no nonsense style. Cutting off disseminators may well be a fitting legacy, and needs to become
a trend to be emulated. However, content filtering that fits the ultimate ‘PC’ party line is a sin that no respected
journalist can commit and retain respect.
O’Reilly secured his ‘establishment’ credentials during
his suppressive segment, on a recent broadcast, with Jeremy Glick. Invoking the new sacred untouchable icon 911 - the Factor demonstrated that
some ‘Spin’ is just fine, as long as it is the official government version. When Glick attempted to illustrate
U.S. involvements that lead to 911 he was rebuffed. Glick started off with:
“ ... is that in -- six months before the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan,
starting in the Carter administration and continuing and escalating while Bush's father was head of the CIA, we recruited
a hundred thousand radical mujahadeens to combat a democratic government in Afghanistan, the Turaki government.”
Bill wasn’t interested in hearing about the history. We all know that
he doesn’t care about reasons, he just wants the facts. But what facts? Glick’s rebuttal to O’Reilly - “You
evoke 9/11 to rationalize everything from domestic plunder to imperialistic aggression worldwide.” And Bill’s
answer: “. . . you have a warped view of this world and a warped view of this country.” Glick’s
attempt to focus on George H Bush and the role of the CIA in training the Mujahadeen, from where many al Qaeda were spawned,
was the last straw for Bill, the gatekeeper. The last remarks by Glick: “By radical extremists who were trained
by this government ...The people of the ruling class, the small minority”, resulted in his audio termination. The
sacrosanct myth of 911 protected by the rage of another Levittown loyal American. The Factor - just earned its weight in gold.
An honest and comprehensive investigation into the events that destroyed the
WTC is a prime national interest. Those who’s dedication are stated as love for country, and all too often protecting
a corrupt government, when they preach the danger of open and broad inquiry. The practice of silence is not a result of overt
conspiracy, but a requirement for career advancement. The way you get the big contract is to acquire the blessing of the media
moguls. Ratings are but one test to remain on the air, while guarding the indefensible is the ticket to superstar status.
Have we not seen this same pattern before in the conversion of Rush Limbaugh
into a cheerleader for the FreeRepublic crowd? Those who were affixed on Rush in the 80’s heard a very different irreverent
and critical government message. Today who would be surprised if he was tapped for the VP slot for the Republican branch of
the War Party.
Any doubt that other loud mouth, and perennial pin head Chris Matthews, has
capitalized on approved speech to test the Senate waters by drinking from a tainted cup? What next Jerry Springer sanctioned
moral legislation certified by a perverted version of a political correct "Hayes Code” that protect the public from
the truth of history? The price of media success is to become the “Village Idiot”, and treat your audience as
the universal fool.
Don’t hold your breath, there won’t be a fresh looking Abby Hoffman
(would he oppose this war?) gracing the boob tube on the FNN, anymore than Ron Paul getting a prime time gig. Where is Joe
McCarthy when you need him! Undoubtedly there are genuine traitors lurking from within, protecting secrets . . . For
those who buy the newspeak, from competitors or critics that Fox is the voice of conservatives, have truly been sold, a “bill
of goods”. Even Bill has enough honesty to tell you he is no conservative - his actions prove he is a Statist lover.
Don’t be flustered or deceived with all those investigative reports, they are selected and designed to create distractions,
away from the real issues.
The fact that is indisputable is that certain subjects are taboo, for serious
consideration, in the mainstream media. The game of perception is managed by guardians of deceit. The healthy antagonism,
that is central to a free and trustworthy press, between government and reporting is dead. O’Reilly is just the latest
example of this reality. While we applaud his tenacity and grit towards exposing many deserving scam artists and officials,
we question his reluctance to tackle the really big issue. It’s not his head that grew too big, it is his obedience
to the orthodoxy of the unsaid, to preserve the rewrite; that we condemn. When lies are defended as truth, the moral high
ground is lost.
Our test for O’Reilly will focus on reporting on the Colin Powell duplicity.
Will we hear about the British admission that its report on Iraq came from magazines and was used by Powell and intelligence
evidence to support the case for starting the war? Will we also hear about the Justice Deptartment’s drafts for a sweeping
expansion of Anti-Terrorism Act? Or will we just get the door slammed in our face? The Factor, won’t cut
off our audio . . .
|Preach the RIGHT Sermon - Bill O'Reilly
|John Kasich you are no Father Coughlin
Shame on you Mr O’Reilly. The hush from your filtration drips with a
steady shrill for all those who have ears to hear. Keep up those tactics and your reign will fade. Sweeps week will demand
more attention and a message that truly informs, and not just performs services, for service rendered. Our recommendation
for America is that we tell Mr Murdock that, we the people, can handle the truth - so don’t keep it from us. Resurrect
the message of that champion of veracity who needed no talking points - Father Coughlin: "The real enemies who are boring from within have been you and your group
of Wall Streeters, of international bankers." Those words ring just as true today as they did in 1935. He converted from
a "Roosevelt or Ruin" man to condemn, FDR as a tyrant. Will this blarney man, called O’Reilly, come to the same awakening
or will he just seek to re-negotiate a bigger pot of gold? The hidden treasure you leprechaun’s are suppose to reveal
PS Bill - The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day - are the idiots in our nations
village that continue to cover-up for the powers that enslave. We the audience, those "Clear-thinking Americans" that you
continually reference, and call "many of the loudest voices of dissent are also the dumbest voices", are really much smarter
then you give us credit. We got your number! What exactly does that 666 mean when the no spin zone factor is applied?
